PEtALS Eclipse plug-ins have been developed and tested with Eclipse Europa (3.3) and Eclipse Ganymede (3.4).
This page describes how you can install the Eclipse plug-ins for PEtALS in your Eclipse environment.
You can download these plug-ins from the following update site.
http://dist.ebmwebsourcing.com/eclipse/petals/site.xml
Ganymede is the last release of Eclipse (June 2008).
Process as described below to install the PEtALS Eclipse plug-ins in this environment.
Select Help > Software Updates...
Choose Available Software and click Manage Sites.
Now, add the PEtALS update site to the list of sites. Click Add... and
copy / paste http://dist.ebmwebsourcing.com/eclipse/petals/site.xml in the dialog.
Click OK. Ensure the PEtALS update site is checked and click OK.
Then, select the plug-ins you need and click Install....
Eclipse should now resolve the dependencies. Once this is done, it displays the list of selected plug-ins with their descriptions.
Click Next, read the User Agreement and
click Finish once you agreed with the licenses.
Eclipse should then ask you to restart so that changes can be included.
Europa is the previous release of Eclipse (June 2007 - May 2008).
Process as described below to install the PEtALS Eclipse plug-ins in this environment.
Select Help > Software Updates > Find and Install...
Select Search for new features to install and click Next.
Now, add the PEtALS update site to the list of sites. Click New Remote Site and fill in the name and URL fields with PEtALS Eclipse plug-ins and http://dist.ebmwebsourcing.com/eclipse/petals/site.xml.
Click OK. Ensure PEtALS Eclipse plug-ins is checked, as well as Eclipse Discovery Site, and then click Finish.
You will be asked to select a mirror for Europa. Choose anyone and click Next.
Now, select the plug-ins you need. If an error appears in the top bar, try to click on Select Required. Once you do not have any error, click Next.
Eclipse should now download the plug-ins. Once this is done, it displays the list of selected plug-ins with their descriptions and their licenses.
Accept the licenses, click Next and then Finish.
Eventually, Eclipse signals you that the plug-ins are not signed. To go on, click Install All.
Eclipse should then ask you to restart so that changes can be included.
